We Can Beat It!

We Can Beat It made its premiere in October 2000 at the Isabelle Reader Theatre, Spencer Middle School.

The two hour performance showcased the Organized Khaos Percussion Ensemble playing garbage cans, hubcaps, car parts, street signs, and traditional percussion instruments. Everything from Handel to the Village People to original compositions by the ensemble was brought to the stage in an energetic and funny stage show.

Through ticket sales, prize raffles, and corporate donations, the first We Can Beat It performances raised over $3,000 for local children and families affected by leukemia!

We Can Beat It has returned year after year, each time filled with all-new unique and dynamic percussion pieces, many written by the performers of the ensemble, and introducing unique "instruments" such as basketballs, ladders, suitcases, brooms, and even the kitchen sink!

2009 saw our fundraising total surpass the $40,000 mark since the show's creation, and we’re only looking higher.

We Can Beat It 10 took place February 2010 as we celebrated our 10th anniversary of fundraising. We thank all of you for your continued support as we continue to search for a cure.   Check out some of the photos from the show in our Gigs area!
