Leukemia: We Can Beat It

Merriam-Webster's dictionary defines leukemia as "an acute or chronic disease characterized by an abnormal increase in the number of white blood cells in the tissues and often in the blood".

There is no cure.

Just ten years ago, there was a 30% survival rate for those diagnosed with leukemia. Now, the chances of pulling through are about 97%, thanks mostly to research made possible by private donations. Even a few years ago, when We Can Beat It began, that number was at about 90%.

We're here to help push that figure to 100%.

Most all of the performers in the Organized Khaos Percussion Ensemble have been affected by leukemia in one way or another. Almost everyone can point to a friend, a relative, or friend of a friend who is struggling with leukemia.

The We Can Beat It performances were created as the Ensemble's way of recognizing and supporting the fight against this potentially deadly disease.
